University of Essex Offering Academic Courses in Pakistan
University of Essex partners with Beaconhouse to elevate the educational opportunities in Pakistan! Recently the University of Essex and Beaconhouse International College have launched a multinational education partnership in Pakistan, marking a new chapter in higher education collaboration between the UK and Pakistan. This UK TNE initiative aims to deliver a wide range of business, law and technology courses to the various students across major cities in Pakistan, starting from this month September 2024.
Official Launch Event with UK and Pakistani Dignitaries
The official launch TNE event was held at a prestigious Pakistani university, attended by Mr. Oliver Christian, the Royal Trade Commissioner for South Asia, who represented the UK government in the ceremony. Oliver Christian landed in Islamabad during his first ever visit to Pakistan, commencing a three-day effort to strengthen the economic, trade and education links between UK and Pakistan. This UK TNE event is seen as a significant step toward enhancing educational and research collaborations too between Pakistan and United Kingdom.
Academic Opportunities Across Major Pakistani Cities
Under this new UK Pakistan TNE partnership, the University of Essex will offer a selection of courses through Beaconhouse International College in its Islamabad, Faisalabad and Lahore campuses. These educational programs will cater to both graduate and postgraduate students, with a focus on business, law, technology and other related fields.
David Briggs, Deputy Dean of Partnerships at the University of Essex, expressed his enthusiasm by stating:
“We are extremely excited to launch this partnership to respond to the need for high-quality higher education opportunities within Pakistan and the wider region. As one of the most international universities in the world, we’re delighted to enter this agreement with Beaconhouse, one of the most respected education providers in the region.”

During the event, Mr. Oliver Christian highlighted the broader importance of international educational partnership in driving knowledge exchange, innovation and economic development. He described this UK Pakistan TNE partnership as a crucial step in expanding educational horizons for students in both the UK and Pakistan.

Affiliation with Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust
The event was attended by prominent public figures and academic leaders, who praised this UK TNE program for its role in advancing cross-border education. During his visit, Oliver Christian announced significant new partnerships between Transnational Education agreement between Beaconhouse International College and the University of Essex and also the affiliation between Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust and the Novacare Hospital in Islamabad.
British Deputy High Commissioner, Karachi Sarah Mooney said:
“As Pakistan’s third-largest trade partner, the UK is committed to driving economic development and addressing challenges that hold back growth. This visit reinforces our commitment to working together to unlock opportunities to benefit both countries.”
