Board of Intermeidate & Secondary Education, Swat
The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Province Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Bill 1990 was passed by the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa on November 28th, 1990, and assented to by the Governor of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa on December 3rd, 1990. It is now an ACT of the Provincial Legislature of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, with the authority to administer, finance, organize, regulate, develop and control Intermediate and Secondary Education and conduct exams in affiliated institutions.
The board is responsible for affiliating institutions that provide SSC and HSSC education within its jurisdiction, and for prescribing courses of instruction. It ensures that affiliated institutions provide necessary facilities and conducts exams, appoints examiners and supervisory staff, and promotes the physical well-being of students. The board's vision is to contribute to the national aims and objectives of education at the Secondary and Higher Secondary levels within its jurisdiction, through a fair, transparent, and efficient examination system and a futuristic vision.The BISEs' jurisdiction includes Swat, Buner, and Shangla.
